Harry Styles released his first album in nearly four years, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,” on March 6, 2026. The album’s lead single, “Aperture,” was released on January 22, 2026, which began the foundation of an album that reflects Styles’ journey of self-growth, reconnecting with people and finding meaning in his life these past few years.
Styles spoke on why he started with “Aperture,” stating in a Hits Radio interview. “The making of the whole album was a really just important time in my life… taking a step away from everything…I learned a lot about…myself and the way that I wanted to work going…forwards…I just started realizing like when I would play it to people, this was always the first song that I would play… that was what I wanted to set the tone with when I played people the music.”
When asked about more about the inspiration behind his new music in the same Hits Radio interview, Styles shared, “What was amazing about the last couple of years was getting to be like a true audience member… it’s like magical and that feeling of togetherness and community that you have… the feeling that I had…led to the we belong together idea…what life is about. It is about being with people and sharing moments with people.”
Styles was asked in the Hits Radio interview what inspired the title of the album, Styles stated, “It’s kind of like a life mantra…loving and being moving through your life with love…taking a break every now and again to like have some fun.”
The album is considered synth-pop, as well as dance-pop and pop-rock. Featuring 12 tracks, it blends a club music vibe with reflective themes, creating an atmosphere that gives off both energetic and personal feelings. Whether it is in “American Girls,” where Styles reflects on watching friends fall in love and start families while he has not, or in “Coming Up Roses,” where he emphasizes on the meaningful aspects that can remain after a relationship ends: the album also captures a range of emotions. In an interview with Zane Low, Styles also spoke about “Dance No More,” saying, “I remember going out the first time in Berlin and standing in the middle of the dance floor and feeling so unbelievably free and safe, that I kind of just had my hands in the air and my eyes closed that I felt these tears streaming down my face. It was this moment of, like, ‘I feel so alive right now.'” These moments in the album reflect the emotional journey Styles went through in his time away from the spotlight these last couple of years.
Styles is set to go on tour beginning in Amsterdam on May 16, 2026, and currently ending December 13, 2026, in Sydney. The tour consists of 50 shows across seven cities, in contrast to the tour’s title, the “Together, Together” tour, fans expressed on the internet that they did not like that dynamic pricing was enabled during ticket sales, causing prices to increase based on demand. Despite this, the talk of ticket prices lessened once it came time for the album to release. When asked in the Hits Radio interview what fans could expect from this tour, Styles said, “Just…about having fun together…the feeling of…me up here and you guys down there is a lot about what this album has been about…I want you to have experience…I want it to feel like, oh, I’m also here dancing with you.”
To celebrate the release of the album, record stores hosted listening parties. There was also pop-up shops in some cities. Fans created lines going out the door, with some waiting hours just to visit the shop and snap a few pictures.
In his desire to celebrate the album firsthand with fans, Style performed a one-night-only show at Manchester’s Co-op Arena on the day of the release. He played the album from top to bottom for what he stated would be the only time, telling the crowd, “This is the only time that we’ll play the album top to bottom like this.”
During the show, fans were not allowed to use their phones and were instead given disposable cameras to capture memories, creating a more present and immersive experience. The concert was recorded and released on Netflix.
In an interview with Zane Lowe, Styles spoke about “Carla’s Song,” saying, “Carla in some ways became the most important part of the record to me…it’s a song that answered so many questions… why and who did I want to be and what am I giving by doing this.” He went on to explain, “there was something in that moment that reminded me…. by making music what you’re investing… it’s songs that go so beyond our lifetime.”
Overall, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally” showcases Style’s growth as both an artist and a person. I believe the album is different compared to his others, but I still enjoy it. I feel it really has an electric vibe sound to it with beats that you can dance a little to. Through its themes of self-growth, learning to connect with people, finding meaning in his life, and finding joy, the album is not only just about Style’s own life but about connecting with fans and him wanting fans to make it their own and disco with him occasionally.
